SAN DIEGO, CA – San Diego, CA based Kids-Did-It! Properties represents a unique collection of charming and colorful illustrations made by young art students, age 3 to 14. With its distinctive look and feel, licensed artwork by more than 42 Kids-Did-It! artists has been published on a variety of merchandise under the Kids-Did-It! Designs® retail brand. Retail sales within this unique product category have garnered Kids-Did-It! licensees more than $4.5 million, to date. In addition to learning the fundamentals of art and design, each young artist also earns royalties for the licensed reproduction of their artwork.

As the first successful Licensor in the unique Artwork-by-Kids product category, Kids-Did-It! Properties president, Glenn Abrams, says, “We’re really excited to see there is growing consumer appeal for delightful artwork created by kids – and the young kids are just as excited, especially when they see their artwork out there on store shelves!”

Kids-Did-It! Designs® artwork has been published on a variety of merchandise ranging from note and greeting cards, books, checks and address labels, to gift bags, holiday giftware and calendars. More than 350 of the most compelling illustrations from the collection are available for licensed reproduction and distribution under the Kids-Did-It! Designs® logo – a retail brand that now stands for colorful, unique and inspiring products that appeal to consumers who love kids and are delighted by the freshness, innocence, and fun of their artwork.

With its distinctive look and feel the Kids-Did-It! Designs® artwork collection is fresh, inspirational, very colorful and surprisingly beautiful. “The images are organized in seven categories and can be digitally adapted to a variety of materials including paper, textiles, toys, clothing, household and soft-goods, ceramics, melamine, plush toys, giftware - just let your imagination go!" says Glenn.

Most of the artwork included in the Kids-Did-It! Designs® collection was created under the guidance of Glenn’s wife, California artist, art director and art teacher, Michelle Abrams. Throughout the summer young children, ages 5 to 14, join Michelle in her San Diego studio to study basic principles of art and design. Since 1989, her encouragement and contagious love for the arts has helped to bring out the best from her enthusiastic students.

Michelle often compares her student’s artwork to those of the classics, describing it as, "…quite colorful and strikingly beautiful – some worthy of being called 'fine art' in the tradition of Matisse, Picasso or Miro.” After class, Michelle encourages parents and students to “take it off the refrigerator, enlarge it, frame it – treat it as fine art and display it proudly around the house!”

The artwork inspired Glenn, also a designer, to create Kids-Did-It! Properties™, an art-licensing and design studio that collects, represents and publishes the student artwork. Now, aside from the thrill and satisfaction of being published artists, the young artists can also earn royalties for the reproduction of their work. “What’s fun is now we can write royalty payments on our own Kids-Did-It! Designs® illustrated checks,” explains Glenn. Students often use the proceeds as extra allowance, or for college savings - some students have even framed their first royalty check.

Kids-Did-It! has provided images for an expanding list of Licensees including Leap Year Publishing, Jeanmarie® Creations for Walgreens drugstores, office product giant MeadWestvaco, Deluxe subsidiary Checks Unlimited, Gibson/American Greetings, Papel Giftware™, Prentice Hall and Houghton-Mifflin publishers, PAK2000 for Dollar Tree Stores, and DayGlo® Color Corporation. Kids-Did-It! has also provided images for The Covenant House for homeless children, as well as Audubon, KPBS-TV and The San Diego Hospice, as part of their find raising art exhibitions.

Next June, Kids-Did-It! Properties™ will, once again, be exhibiting their illustration collection at The L!CENSING Show at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in NYC, actively seeking licensees for Housewares, Home Furnishings, Furniture, Home Accessories, Giftware, Stationary and other product categories.

“The enthusiastic reaction to our Artwork-by-Kids concept, to the distinctive images in the Kids-Did-It! Designs® collection, plus our story-telling logo and our promotional photos speaks well for continued growth of the brand,” says Glenn.
